Search coil covers protect the bottom of your loop from excessive wear.
Abrasive surfaces such as sand, heavy brush and desert rocks can damage the loop. Search coil covers are an inexpensive way to protect a valuable part of your metal detector. They do not affect the depth or performance of the metal detector. Just put it on, leave it on, and wear it out!
