We are always
interested in a good metal detector treasure story. Family outings, a
vacation hunt that paid for the trip, a backyard with a history! Mention
the metal detector, how deep was the find, and any other interesting
details. Include a few pictures of yourself and the treasure.

Prizm V finds first silver...1922
dollar!
Dear White's,
I would like to pass along one of my stories about a day metal
detecting in the park. Let me first tell you I'm new at this,
but my golfing buddies have been metal detecting for over 35
years. They are brothers and they both told me when I started
doing this "wait till you find your first piece of silver"! With
that in mind, I was checking out one of our local parks and I
was finding a few coins and just having fun. All of a sudden I
got a signal near a bench and wondered if the metal pipe from
the bench was giving me the signal, so I decided to use my
"Bullseye" and found the target. What I found was a 1922 Silver
Dollar. I was so excited, but then started thinking I wish
someone was here to see this. Could this be the same as getting
a hole in one with no one around? I looked at it for a long
while and then started checking the area again, but found
nothing. I decided to go check the swing sets and all of a
sudden I got a real good signal and started digging and there
was a large Gold coin the same size of the Silver Dollar! Well,
you can just imagine how my heart was beating and I think I even
had a tear in my eye! Now the funny part, it turned out to be a
U.S. Air Force Sergeants Association coin worth about $3.00. Of
course I will still treasure this find and love telling the
story. The above finds were with my Prizm V. I've since bought a
DFX and it's too cold to use right now, but I'm sure there's
more fun ahead for me.

Prizm V finds 14k ring first time
out!
Dear Whites,
My wife Patti bought a Prizm V metal detector as a Christmas
gift for me this year. I had never used a metal detector before,
so I didn't know what to expect. After waiting for a break from
the rain, I set out with Patti and my friend Steve (who has
years of experience with metal detectors) for my first treasure
hunt. We picked out a couple camp sites along a river away from
the crowds. This seemed like a good spot to find a few coins and
learn how to use my Prizm V. Steve brought along a few items
such as a nail, various coins, and jewelry to get a feel of how
the metal detector reacted to different targets.
We then took off with metal detectors in hand look for
treasures. I immediately started finding coins and of course
many pull tabs (which I could have discriminated, but decided
not to). Within an hour, I got a strong high tone signal that
indicated a depth of 4 - 6 inches. I carefully dug, checked for
the signal, and dug some more. Sure enough at about 5 inches
down I found a 14K white gold wedding band. My eyes got as big
as the ring as I pulled it out from the dirt - my first
treasure. Needless to say that I am now hooked. Thanks to Whites
for making a quality metal detector that is easy to use (and
thanks to my wife for a great Christmas gift).

Prizm V hits deep first time
out
Dear White's, My Dad
got me a White's Prizm 5 metal detector for my 12th birthday
last month. It's been so hot, that we haven't been able to get
out yet. Yesterday it was much nicer out and we took the Prizm 5
out to see what it could do. We went to an old park down the
road that has been detected hundreds of times, so we weren't
expecting to find much. I read the manual about ten times so far
and couldn't wait to get going. Anyway, we got out of the truck,
I turned the Prizm 5 on, turned the tone id on and started
sweeping. My Dad told me to skip all the signals but the 25c and
50c signals. After about 30 seconds I got a 25c signal. My Dad
dug down about 6" and found a large brown coin. After cleaning
it a little we saw that it was a 1899 Admiral Dewey Borax Soap
Token. This was the first thing I found with the Prizm and it
was from the 1800's. I still can't believe it. I've had other
detectors before, but could never find anything over an inch or
two deep. Thank you, White's, for building such a lightweight,
deep seeking and easy to use detector.

Prizm V impresses a veteran
treasure hunter!
I am writing to tell you that I am glad you
folks made an affordable detector that's really lightweight and
almost as good as the more expensive detectors. I am talking
about the Prizm V! This detector really does the job and is not
so expensive. I am retired and I love to go out with my metal
detector because it's relaxing and you never know what you might
dig up. I am 68 years old and I wanted a detector that was
lightweight and would still go deep. This Prizm V just filled
the bill. The Prizm also lets you know what's in the ground and
how deep the coins are. That's a plus in my book. I have a hard
time getting up and down when digging coins. The weight is
really nice for us older folks. I never get tired. I have had
other detectors, but I do believe the Prizm is ideal. I also
like the idea of having tones that you can tell what's in the
ground, and the discrimination is unbelievable. You can knock
out foil and pop top caps and still get nickels with Smart
Notch.
I've been metal detecting since 1972, so I've gone through
several detectors, and most of them without a screen that show
you what you've got. Most of my coins I've found from 1 to 7 or
8 inches. If you go deeper than that you have a large hole and
its very hard to put soil back without leaving a mess.
Thanks again for making the Prizm V!

Prizm V hits the beach!

I just purchased a Prizm V, and with the mild
winter we have been having I went to a couple of different
beaches. Just to let you know I am new to metal detecting, so I
went with some friends. I was pleased with what I have found so
far. I found a gold earring with diamonds in it as soon as I
turned it on. I couldn't wait to see what else I would find on
the beach.
I didn't think I would really find much being
the winter and all but there was more to be found. Here is a
list of some of the things I found... a silver ring, a Spanish
reale (a copy of one), NY Yankees pendant with a watch right
next to it, some toy cars, a kids bracelet, and some change. Of
course there were the pull tabs and bottle caps.
Now that its getting colder out , I cant wait for spring and
summer to come around, so I can go to parks, the beach and other
places to detecting. I really enjoy the new Prizm V, its easy to
use, and tells me what is buried before I dig it up. That's
great for a beginner.
