Prizm II outstanding birthday
present!
Dear Whites Electronics,
Last year for my twelfth birthday I was given the
best present ever. It was a PRIZM II metal detector! I had been
researching all year long trying to find the best detector for
me. Finally I had decided on the Prizm II since it is not only
reasonably priced but has a LCD screen on it and the detector
was very sturdy. So when I opened it up I was bursting with
excitement and couldn't wait to try it out. Right away after
assembling and reading the manual I took it out to my yard to
test it out. I was amazed how you could just turn it on and go.
The PRIZM detector amazed me after it correctly identified all
the targets on the screen before I had even dug them up. It was
awesome! If the identifier said that it was a bottle cap then
you could be sure that it was a bottle cap. On my 3rd signal the
screen read the wheat penny category and sure enough when I dug
it up I new that I had found my first Wheat Penny!
A few days later my dad took me on a camping trip to an island
on a lake, so I decided to take my metal detector along for fun.
When we got there I grabbed my Prizm out of the truck and began
looking for more treasure. Half an hour later, I was going along
a narrow beach when I suddenly picked up a signal. I quickly put
on the all metal mode and made an X with the detector to
pinpoint my target. I grabbed my shovel and started to dig. A
few minutes later I was rewarded when I saw an object sticking
out of the sand. I picked up my discovery and ran over to the
lake where I washed the sand off the object. My heart jumped for
joy as I realized that I had found my first silver ring! I let
out a triumphant shout and rushed back to camp to show my dad my
new discovery.
A month later I went to Aruba and decided to take the Prizm
along. At the first beach we went to I quickly stuck it together
and started out along the beach. On the first day I found a
couple of quarters, some trash, and a really old room key. The
next day I went out again and did the same but found only a few
quarters. In the end, even though I did not find a lot of stuff
I still had a lot of fun and was able to practice pinpointing
and discriminating. All in all, Whites Electronics amazes me at
how they can stuff so much high tech technology into a detector
and still sell it for outstanding prices.
Thanks a lot Whites,

Prizm II finds 1828 reale!

I Bought a New Prizm II in the beginning of July
2004 to give it a try, looked like a fun unit and was really
light which is great in the woods for me.
I have an old home site on my property which predates the home I
live in (ca.1830+-) and I have been detecting since a young kid
with my first units. Well through all the years I have had many
Whites units as well as all the top dog units from others, I
dont believe in just one unit, it's way to much fun to have a
few of them.
Well from this site at home I have gotten a lot of coins dating
from 1733 king George copper to large cents as well as Spanish
silver and IH's, and also counterfeit coins as well, found a lot
of great ole coins and buttons and love them all.
Well with a lot of rain here this summer, its really hard to get
out for a lot of hunts but being its at home on my property its
easy to go when I can. So today I was working on one of the
stone walls of the cellar hole moving the mounded dirt away and
then scan the dirt moved. I managed 2 very nice finds, although
well worn on one and the other is melted from the fire there,
they are great to me. On the Prizm series I just turn on and go
just lowering the disc one notch and maybe at times upping the
sensitivity up one also from factory settings. Well today as I
just started to scan and I got a crown cap ring lock on...
locked dead and didnt move so being in an old site I do check
out everything there is... well it was melted and very hard to
tell plus being in the woods very dark also but by the looks of
it I figured it had to be older in age.
Well after checking that find out and taking some pictures I
kept going and it wasn't long before I got my next one, this was
a smaller hit tho so I used pin-point and zeroed in on it. Well
this one was very well worn and very small but had just enough
to be able to ID it...
One was ID'd as an 1828 Mexican 1 reale well burnt at that and
the other is a 1/2 reale but unsure of date because it was well
used and well worn.
Whites has a fantastic line up from the top dog all the way down
to the newest series, the Prizm line, you dont always have to
spend the big money to make the good finds so anyone willing to
try a great unit and really use it, you wont be disappointed at
all. I really love the unit for being lightweight and it's ease
of use so thanks to all who were involved in the new line of
Prizm's and thank you Whites for the long line of great units
you have made...
